With 2 large dogs and 3 adults traveling together we needed some way to extend our carrying capacity so I started looking at car top carriers. I decided quickly that I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something that I might use once a year, and I knew that I did not want the bother of storing a hard case version so after reading the reviews I ordered this version carrier. It was great, easy to put onto the van, solid straps that worked easily and held perfectly. We had perfect weather so I can't attest to its ability to keep things dry but it looks like it should to a pretty good job of it. I expect to use it for several more years and don't hesitate to recommend it to others.
